🥋 Belt Syllabus & Gradings
At Noor Shotokan Karate, each belt tells a story of growth — not just in skill, but in character, confidence, and commitment. Our syllabus guides students step-by-step through their karate journey, with structured gradings three times a year.
Gradings are respectful, motivating assessments that cover:
Kihon – basics (stances, strikes, blocks)
Kata – traditional forms that build flow and precision
Kumite – safe, controlled sparring to build reflexes and awareness
Etiquette – behaviour, discipline, and focus
💡 Gradings are based on readiness — not just time served.
Here’s how students progress through the ranks at Noor Shotokan Karate:

We hold gradings three times per year, typically at the end of each training term. Instructors recommend students for grading based on:
✅ Regular class attendance
✅ Consistent effort and focus
✅ Technical improvement
✅ Positive dojo behaviour
Every grading includes helpful feedback so students can continue growing — both in the dojo and in life. We aim to build strong martial artists and even stronger individuals.
